An Amazon Adventure – Photos from the Peruvian and Colombian Jungle

Happy Travellers

Colombia, Peru

About a year ago we sent Harry and Danny on an epic South American Adventure. They came back with lots of stories and some great pics, which they shared with us through their #AdventureLust series. We have also had great photo posts from some of our many Happy Travellers. But it has been too long since our last photo post, so we’re now pleased to bring you these pictures of an almighty Amazon Adventure.

The photos come courtesy of Matt, who travelled deep into the Colombian Amazon with us last year. Matt opted for our Undiscovered Colombia Adventure and started his adventures in Leticia – the southernmost city of Colombia. He was able to experience amazing flora and fauna during his four full days spent hiking through the jungle, paddling through the vast network of rivers and lakes and sleeping in tree houses and floating lodges! We have selected a few of his photos to share in this post, to give you a taster of the unbelievable biodiversity that the Amazon rainforest is home to.

Matt was also happy to share his photos of the Peruvian Amazon, where he travelled independently. Given that we have tours that include destinations in the Bolivian, Colombian, Ecuadorian and Brazilian Amazon, it was high time that we added a Peruvian Amazon Adventure to our list of exciting jungle adventures. We have partnered with sustainable development and research charity crees foundation, to offer our travellers a four-day experience that provides an amazing insight into the landscapes, flora and fauna of the Peruvian Amazon. Their ecolodge and research centre are based in the Manu Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and you can read how crees foundation is supporting a sustainable Amazon in last week’s blog post.

In the coming weeks we will be publishing more posts about the adventures of our Happy Travellers. Stay tuned for more stories and stunning pictures of cultural tourism in Bariloche (Argentinean Patagonia) and whale-watching off the Huasco Coast in Chile!

Thanks so much to Matt for having shared his Amazon adventure with us – and for the great pictures! Did you like this content? Then you can subscribe to our quarterly newsletter to make sure you never miss blog posts like this one in the future!
