This is a private tour and you will be accompanied by an English-speaking for all the activities. The tours and excursions are as part of a small group in the Amazon rainforest and private in the Coffee region. The price displayed is per person based on two people sharing. All tours can be tailor-made to suit your interests and requirements.
This 8-day Colombian adventure starts in Bogotá, the capital and largest city in Colombia. Then, you will fly to Leticia to stay at the Calanoa Jungle Lodge in the heart of the Amazon. Experience guided night walks, visit the Tikuna community, hike the Calanoa Reserve, canoe in the Matamata creek, paddle the Amazon river, and navigate forest canopy during high-water season.
Visit Mocagua Island, see unique flora and fauna, boat to Peruvian Amazon for dolphin watching and a colorful sunset. Next, fly to the coffee region where you will visit Salento, the colourful town, hike through Valle del Cocora, and explore local cafes and craft shops.

Day 1: Bogotá (-/-/-)
Welcome reception at the airport upon arrival in Bogotá. Transfer to your comfortable hotel.
Optional: In the afternoon, it's time to explore the city in a private half day tour. You will have the chance to explore Bogota's colonial centre on foot. Feast on culinary delights and taste the ancient Muisca beverage. Learn about street art and visit the iconic Chorro de Quevedo, Botero museum and Plaza de Bolívar. -
Day 2: Bogotá to Leticia (B/-/D)
After an early breakfast, pick-up and transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Leticia (approx. 2 hours), the vibrant and full of life "Amazonian capital" of Colombia. On arrival, shared boat to Calanoa Jungle Lodge (approx. 2 hours). You will check-in at a private cabin in the lodge, surrounded by exotic flowers, palm trees, and wildlife. Free afternoon to rest. When the sun sets, you will enjoy a guided night walk in the primary forest with expert indigenous guides. Experience the nocturnal life of the Amazon, with frogs, exotic creatures, blooming flowers, and phosphorescent mushrooms. Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Day 3: The Tikuna Community & the Matamata Creek (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will do a half-day guided visit to the Tikuna community, where you will be able to appreciate how their life revolves around the river and the jungle. You will learn about ancestral traditions and their relationship with nature. After lunch, you will hike to cross the Calanoa Reserve and arrive to the Matamata creek, on the limit of the Amacayacu National Park. Here, a canoe is waiting for you to descend paddling to the Amazon river and return to the lodge (if the water level allows it). Navigating the canopy of the forest during high-water season is an incredible experience. Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Day 4: The Mocagua Island & the Amazon River (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you will enjoy a half-day excursion to the Mocagua Island, where very different flora and fauna can be seen. The island also has gorgeous interior lakes, were the lotus Victoria amazonica blooms. After lunch, take a boat adventure to the Peruvian margin of the Amazon River, to spot pink dolphins and to watch the sunset and its explosion of colour from the river. Dinner will be served at the lodge.

Day 5: Leticia to the Coffee Region (B/-/-)
After an early breakfast, head back to Leticia by shared boat (approx. 1.5 hours), arriving in time to catch a flight to the Coffee Region (approx. 4.5 hours, including stopover in Bogota). On arrival, private transfer to the charming town of Salento (under 1 hour), where you will check in at a comfortable and well-located B&B. Free evening to explore the town on your own. For instance, you can walk to Alto de la Cruz for views of Valle de Cocora and Andean mountains.

Day 6: Coffee experience near Salento (B/-/-)
After breakfast, you will take a private half-day coffee tour, to shadow the staff of one of the fincas and see the entire process from start to finish. After seeing the coffee process from the field we will set out in search of the end product, to enjoy a coffee tasting session in Salento. Free afternoon and evening.
Optional: Take a half-day farm tour in Palermo, home to an amazing farm based on sustainable methods. Here, you will meet the gregarious grandmother herself and the whole family, who will tell you all about their farming philosophy. You will also get the chance to see how the local toffee Arequipe is made. -
Day 7: Exploring the Valle del Cocora (B/L/-)
After breakfast, we hop on an immaculate old Willy's jeep and wind our way through super-scenic Valle del Cocora, a valley that is famous for its supply of the national tree, the wax palm. During this priavte half-day excursion, you will have the opportunity to take in some mountain air and stroll up the foot hills of the Andes. Back in Salento, you will explore Calle Real's craft shops and then have a traditional grilled trout on plantain crisp for lunch. The rest of the afternoon and evening are free to relax.

Day 8: From the Coffee Region to Bogotá to Home (B/-/-)
At scheduled time, private transfer to the Armenia or Pereira airports (under 1 hour) for a 1-hour direct flight to Bogotá, arriving in time to catch your international flight back home. End of tour.

Additional information:
You will be greeted at the airport on arrival by a local guide who will take you to your hotel and will be able to answer any questions, make any additional arrangements and generally ensure everything goes smoothly.
No minimum number of passengers required and you will not be travelling with a group of people you do not know. Prices quoted are per person and based on at least 2 people travelling. You should expect a cheaper price for bigger groups.
Passport details are required at time of booking. For information on visa requirements and health formalities we recommend you visit the FCO travel advice website or the US Travel Advice Website (direct links to Colombia page). You will need a Yellow Fever vaccination for travel to the Amazon.
What to bring: Travel insurance, passport, binoculars, alarm clock, walking shoes, water bottle, daypack, sun protection, insect repellent, sun glasses and hat, swimwear, flip-flops, torch with extra batteries, warm clothes to layer, comfortable light cotton shirts with long and short sleeves, comfortable trousers made of cotton or a light synthetic material (bring at least two sets of light clothes which can be washed and dried easily), shorts, rain coat, plastic ziplock bags, plastic bags for your luggage in case of rain.
